Dropping The Engine

We received the full engine back from Agra Engineering, it arrived as a completely built long block, but this meant we were left with the task of putting all of the ancillaries back onto it, and mounting it back in the engine bay. Quite a complex task considering we haven’t done anything like this before.

\"\"

As you can see on the image above our blue rocker cover is in place and the engine is looking very tidy just as we had expected.

It didn’t take us long to get to work on putting all the ancillaries back, as part of the rebuild we decided to replace all of standard black hosing, with high performance Samco hosing which we sourced in a blue colour to go with the rocker cover.
We also needed to place the Quaife gearbox and transfer box on, agra had already fitted our newly balanced OS Giken Clutch.

As you can see the engine has come along way when you see it in comparison to the engine we pulled out originally: -

Here is a picture with the Gearbox Fitted ready for the transfer box: -

We managed to get transfer box fitted, and the intake manifold etc, we got ourselves into a situation where we felt the engine was now ready to be dropped into the engine bay. As you can see on the picture below we also fitted the pullies and the oil cooler pipes.

\"\"

Now that we felt it was ready to drop we placed the engine in a position that we could mount the car safely over the engine as follows: -

\"\"

Now was time too lift the car safely over the engine and place it down so that we could then pull the engine up and place it on it\’s mounts: -

\"\"

We then got ourselves to a point where the engine was nicely mounted: -

\"\"

This left us with mountains of wiring to do, fitting piping, mounting turbo and manifold, mounting the radiator etc, here is a picture of the turbo and manifold and us measuring the radiator up ready to be mounted: -

\"\"

We managed to get some mounts alloy welded onto the radiator and thus the radiator completely mounted, along with a custom bracket for the top mounted oil cooler, also notice the dudey little power steering cooler on the picture below: -

\"\"

We were now completely ready for taking the car to The Racing Line in Halifax Here are a few pictures of the Pulsar ready and on the road too The Racing Line: -

The car is now at The Racing Line in Halifax
