Work At The Racing Line Halifax
A crucial stage of finishing our Pulsar GTiR lies in the capable hands of Matt at The Racing Line in Halifax, after using him myself for tuning another car and talking too him, and also listening to what other GTIROC members had to say, I knew Matt had the reputation to undertake this project. Firstly I sat down with Matt and discussed where we were too go with the car, after a long discussion we finally decided too do the following: - Replace Standard Ecu with a Vipec V44 Ecu Custom Made Side Exit Exhaust Replace All Transmission Oils Geometry Setup Fit Walbro 255 in ...
Dropping The Engine
We received the full engine back from Agra Engineering, it arrived as a completely built long block, but this meant we were left with the task of putting all of the ancillaries back onto it, and mounting it back in the engine bay. Quite a complex task considering we haven’t done anything like this before. As you can see on the image above our blue rocker cover is in place and the engine is looking very tidy just as we had expected. It didn’t take us long to get to work on putting all the ancillaries back, as part of the rebuild ...
The Spray Job
One of the first things we wanted to do with the Pulsar was to give her a fresh lick of paint as the old colour was faded, dull and not in a very fit state at all. There were the usual rust patches and holes on the rear arches too so these also needed to be repaired. We had allready decided that we were going to fit a Front Mount Intercooler so the front bumper would need cutting accordingly so that it would fit. We couldnt decide wether we wanted to stay white or go black, but in the end ...
Engine Rebuild
When we first got the car it was pretty much standard with only a K&N air filter as a modification, here is a picture of the engine bay before we started tinkering with it: - We bought the car with the intention of getting some big bhp, whilst also taking our time over the project. This was soon taken out of our hands when the standard engine spun a bearing and caused damage to the bottom end. We took the engine out ourselves and started to get things together ready for the rebuild. We decided to bite the bullet and go the ...
Blitz Sonic Power Induction Kit
When it came to choosing air filters we believed there were really only 2 choices. The Blitz Sonic Power and the HKS Mushroom Filter. After a bit of research we found out that the HKS wasnt all that it was cracked up to be and came with its problems, such as the foam in the filter would eventually break off and get into the turbo etc.. this is not good obviously. We also noticed that a lot of people had the HKS and not many had the Blitz so this was a factor in buying the blitz, we read no ...

Hello a quick update, we have reached the limits of the standard ignition system so have been forced into purchasing something with a bit more ignition power, the GTiR\’s standard ignition system just doesnt cut the mustard. So therefore we have gone ahead and ordered a MSD 6a Ignition Box and a MSD SS Blaster Coil. This will help us to reach... [Read more of this review]
